Trump's ex-BODYGUARD who became top executive is being investigated in NYC criminal probe

DONALD Trump's ex-bodyguard who became a top executive is now being investigated in New York City as part of a criminal probe into the Trump organization.

Big Apple prosecutors are reportedly trying to find out if Matthew Calamari got tax-free benefits as they investigate whether the former president's company illegally avoided paying taxes on perks.

Lawyers will look into his allegedly untaxed apartments, subsidized rent, or car leases during his stint working for Trump before becoming the organization's COO.

Neither Calamari nor his son, the Trump Organizations' corporate director of security, Matthew Calamari Jr, have been accused of any wrongdoing.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the Calamaris were advised to hire lawyers.

Calamari Sr lived in a luxurious Trump Park Avenue apartment in the Upper East Side of New York City.

The ex-bodyguard also drives a Mercedes leased through the Trump Organization, the Journal revealed.

Calamari Jr lives in Trump Parc East, according to a deposition statement he made in 2018 while divorcing his ex-wife, Jennifer Calamari.

Prosecutors are looking into whether the Trump organization overvalued assets to get tax and financial benefits, which is a crime.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr,'s office is probing the Trump Organization to see if the company provided benefits to any other staff aside from the Calamaris.

Trump denied any wrongdoing and dismissed Vance and New York Attorney General Letitia James' investigation as a Democratic-led "witch hunt."

The Calamaris reportedly hired Nicholas Gravante Jr. of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP, who boasts former clients like Joe Biden's son Hunter, as well as Potus' brother, James Biden.

Trump's ousted former lawyer Michael Cohen told the House Oversight Committee in 2019 that Calamari Sr would agree that Trump inflated assets to insurance companies during his testimony.

Calamari was hired by real estate mogul-turned-president Trump in 1981, who had witnessed him tackling hecklers at the US Open.

Speaking to Bloomberg, Calamari – who once dreamed of being a linebacker – said he "took one guy immediately right down" and "right at [another heckler]," who is also "carried down."

Speaking about Calamair's talents at the time, Trump gushed: "I love the guy. My thing is, I've always promised I would, knock on wood, never let anything happen to him."

In How to Get Rich (2004), Trump revealed that after he "[got] to know Matthew, I realized he had a lot more to offer than his job title warranted."

Calamari Sr headed Trump's surveillance operations at his golf clubs and hotels, reported Buzzfeed News.

His son joined the Trump Organization in 2017.
