The hit ITV skating show has suffered a slump in viewers this year amid an injury crisis forcing a number of stars and celebrities to drop out.

But bosses can rely on West, 67, to keep tuning in from HM Prison New Hall in West Yorkshire.

A jail source told The Sun: ‘Rose is a huge fan. Every weekend she clears a slot in her evening to watch the latest episode – it’s a big part of her prison life.

‘She’s got a friend outside prison who she chats to and who makes the call to put a vote in for Rose.

‘If you were the dancer she was backing, it’d be enough to send a shiver down your spine.’

It comes after it was revealed last month that West was given the coronavirus vaccine before prison staff because she is classed as ‘extremely vulnerable’.

As well as her obesity, West has failing eyesight and struggles with stairs and is said to be paranoid about catching Covid.

West, who has consistently claimed her innocence, and husband Fred, abducted, tortured and raped women over a 20-year period at their house in Cromwell Street, Gloucestershire, where they resided from 1972 until their arrests in 1994.

The pair even killed their eldest daughter Heather in June 1987.

Fred, who confessed the killings, committed suicide in his cell while on remand at HMP Birmingham on New Year’s Day, 1995.

Their son Stephen, who is now 45, recently claimed his mother was the ‘driving force’ behind the couple’s horrendous crimes and his father ‘lived in fear’ of her until his death.

Other victims included Alison Chambers, 16, Shirley Robinson, 18, Juanita Mott, 18, Shirley Hubbard, 15, Theresa Siegnethaler, 21, Lucy Partington, 21, Carol Ann Cooper, 15, Lynda Gough, 19, Rena Costello (Fred’s ex-wife), 27, Charmaine West (Fred’s daughter), 8, and Anne McFall, 18.

Fred is also believed to have also killed 15-year-old Mary Bastholm, although her remains have never been found.
