A NEW Jersey rapper has been arrested after police found drugs and a number of guns during a raid on his home.
A Boogie wit da Hoodie, real name Artist Dubose, was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and possession of marijuana after police executed a search warrant on Monday.
The 25-year-old, born in the Bronx, draws over 15million listeners a month on Spotify and has more than five million followers on Instagram.
Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office searched his home in the Demarest neighbourhood on Monday and seized four guns.
They were a Ruger .380 handgun, a Glock .40 caliber handgun, an H&K 9mm handgun, and a Smith and Wesson 9mm handgun.
The search also turned up hollow-point bullets, a number of high-capacity magazine, a stash of marijuana, and some hashish oil edibles.
Drug paraphernalia normally used for the distribution of controlled dangerous substances was also found, according to prosecutors.
Also arrested was 33-year-old Quashaun Hagler, a personal security guard at the property.
He was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a handgun and one count of possession of a large capacity magazine.
Dubose's manager, Samblou Camara, 27, was also arrested after police found marijuana and edibles in a separate road on his home in Bergenfield.
He was charged with one count of possession of marijuana.
Police didn't confirm details of the investigation that had prompted the raids.
The raids came just a day after an 18-year-old man was left critically injured in a shooting that took place across the road from a nightclub where Dubose was celebrating his 25th birthday, though police said the incidents were not related.
Chief Detective Robert Anzilotti said: "I can confirm [Dubose] was at the club during the Sunday night shooting.
“He is not a suspect, nor did we believe him to be a suspect.”
