Police ‘find notes written in blood’ after son, 23, ‘kills dad, 60, then self in murder-suicide’ – The Sun

POLICE found notes written in blood after a 23-year-old man killed his 60-year-old dad before stabbing himself in a horrific murder-suicide, it was reported today.

Nicholas Mooney, 23, killed James, 60, before taking his own life at the Paisley home in Scotland.

A source today told the Daily Record that the young man, who had mental health problems, had left a note on the shower screen where police found him at the £300,000 pad in Ralston.

One source said: "It was a murder-suicide – and it’s an absolute tragedy.

"There were notes written in blood in the house. Nicholas stabbed his dad and then killed himself in the bath. He left a bloody note on the shower screen where they found him.

"The note said something like, ‘It’s nothing to do with anybody else’."

He reportedly also wrote notes on an iPad before taking his own life.

Scotland police had rushed to the Lanfine Road home on April 16 after receiving a call.

Forensic officers then scoured the scene as part of investigations.

One neighbour said: “Everyone is stunned. This is a very quiet street in a very quiet area.”

Detective Inspector Erin Renwick, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Following postmortem examinations, the death of the 60-year-old man is being treated as murder.

"The death of the 23-year-old man is not being treated as suspicious.

"Although our detailed investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances, we do believe that it was contained within this house and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."
