DOMINIC Cummings launched a blistering attack against Health Secretary Matt Hancock while giving evidence to a select committee yesterday.

Matt Hancock is due to give a press conference today where he is expected to respond to the allegations made by the Prime Minister's former chief adviser.

The timing for today's press conference has yet to be confirmed but it is expected to start at 5pm.

What is Matt Hancock expected to say

It will be the Health Secretary's first time answering questions since Dominic Cummings accused him of lying and causing "tens of thousands" of deaths".

In yesterday's select committee hearing the PM's former chief adviser blamed Hancock for sending infected Covid patients back into care homes and that he should have been fired at least 15 times.

Cummings accused the Health Secretary of "criminal, disgraceful behaviour" that caused serious harm, he slammed him for only caring about hitting his testing targets.

Hancock is also likely to discuss the Indian variant which continues to spread across England.

Yesterday the UK Covid cases hit 3,000 for the first time in a month sparking calls for tighter restrictions.
