Magnitude 5.1 earthquake rocks NORTH CAROLINA in rare East Coast tremor

AN EARTHQUAKE was reported in North Carolina on Sunday morning.

The US Geological Survey reported a 5.1-magnitude quake hit the state, located on the East Coast.

Per officials, the earthquake hit near Sparta, near the state's northern border with Virginia.
