A FOUR-year-old boy has died after falling into a canal.
The child was pulled out by police officers but could not be revived.
He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.
West Midlands Police were alerted to the incident in Walsall at around midday.
A spokesman said: "There are no suspicious circumstances and our thoughts are with his family and the rest of the community at this deeply distressing time."
There is a play area next to the canal. Police cordoned off the area.
Two ambulances, two paramedic officers a Critical Care Car and the Midlands Air Ambulance were called to the scene.
He was found in a critical condition and received care from paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.
