Ranch hand Colby has become a firm favourite for Yellowstone fans over the popular show’s three instalments. After narrowly avoiding a grisly injury this year on the Paramount Network, series star Denim Richards has revealed the best thing about working on the hit series.
Writer-director Taylor Sheridan and the rest of the Yellowstone team are currently hard at work on the highly anticipated fourth season.
Hype for the new instalment is at an all time high after a series of attacks in this year’s finale left the Dutton family on a razor’s edge.
The series struck gold when Hollywood star Kevin Costner was cast as influential ranch owner John Dutton.
However, his time on the series could be coming to an end after he was targeted by mysterious gunmen in the last moments of episode ten, The World Is Purple.
Meanwhile, Kayce Dutton (played by Luke Grimes) was last seen gearing himself up to face a surprise attack head on, whilst his sister Beth (Kelly Reilly) was targeted by an explosive package.
Filming for Yellowstone’s season four is currently on schedule to tie up loose ends by summer 2021.
As the break between episodes continues, fans have been vocal about wanting to discover more about Yellowstone Ranch’s most enduring residents.
This includes John’s small legion of faithful bunkhouse hands, who were first introduced in season one when newcomer Jimmy Hurdstram (Jimmy Hurdstram) was shown the ropes.
Among them is Colby (Denim Richards), who almost suffered a gruesome fate in the penultimate episode of Yellowstone season three.
After narrowly avoiding the wrath of Wade (Boots Southerland) and Clint Morrow (Brent Walker), Richards is expected to reprise his role in the upcoming fourth season.
Luckily for devoted fans, this should also mean the return of his love interest Teeter (Jennifer Landon), who has provided the intricate family saga some much-needed heart and soul over the years.
Opening up to Digital Journal about his Yellowstone character, Colby star Denim Richards sang the praises of his co-star, Kevin Costner.

He said: “Working with Kevin Costner was excellent. It’s a great opportunity to work with somebody who was at the top of his game for so many decades in the entertainment business.
“I feel I gained 20 years of experience being able to just be around him.”
As a major studio actor and director, the star of Dances With Wolves and The Untouchables has lent Yellowstone some undeniable pedigree in the role of John Dutton.
Shot on location in a real ranch in Montana, the idyllic setting has also provided a bounty of new experiences for Yellowstone’s more up-and-coming stars.
Richards continued: “He’s a really fascinating character. He is in his beginning stages and to watch him evolve has been great.
“The best part about him is the opportunity to be around the other guys, riding the horses, and all the fun things. You get the best of both worlds.”
While the majority of the drama focuses on the fraught inner-conflicts between the Duttons, many fans have called for more attention to be given to ranch hands like Colby in the next season.
Now an unknown contender has declared war on Yellowstone Ranch, Colby could be amongst the first to step up and protect the Dutton’s vulnerable land.
Yellowstone will return with season 4 in 2021 on Paramount and Peacock.
