The new trailer for Yellowstone season four had plenty of action-packed sequences to get excitement levels rising while doing its best to keep the fates of John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner), Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) under wraps. Throughout, fans see Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Monica Dutton (Kelsey Asbille) rally the troops in a quest for revenge for the season three finale attacks while there’s plenty of Jamie Dutton (Wes Bentley) and his biological father Garrett Randall (Will Patton) to tee up an intriguing storyline. But arguably the biggest talking point is the supposed “return” of Beth as fans are convinced they spotted her in the Paramount Network promo.
Beth hasn’t been seen since the Yellowstone season three finale when she became the victim of a life-threatening explosion.
While father John and brother Kayce were both mowed down and attacked by gunfire, Beth was targeted with an unlabelled bomb at her office – although the identity of the culprit behind the attacks remains unknown.
And the trailer does its best to keep their futures shrouded in mystery, with Kayce and Beth both absent and John only appearing in scenes taken from the season three finale when he was shot.
However, as the trailer edges towards its final moments, fans appear to have spotted Beth in conversation with a season four newcomer, Caroline Warner (Jacki Weaver).
In a split-second shot, fans get their first glimpse at Marker Equities CEO, Caroline and she appears in conversation with an unspecified character.
The shot is taken from behind the shoulder of a woman as Caroline’s face can be seen over it.
However, while this woman’s face can’t be seen before the scene moves on in a blink of an eye, her hairstyle has led many to believe it’s none other than Beth.
Taking to Reddit to discuss the trailer, one fan pointed out: “I’m still doing freeze-frames as best I can. This must be the new CEO of Market Equities, and that’s definitely Beth’s hair on the right.”
And they weren’t alone as another agreed: “Watch it in slow motion… a lot going on! Pause it at 1:05. Looks like the back of Beth’s head to me.”
A third concurred: “Thank you. That definitely looks like the back of Beth’s head.”
“Perhaps Beth being interviewed?” added a fourth alongside a screenshot of Caroline in action.
Could these eagle-eyed fans have already rumbled Beth makes it out of the explosion alive following the season four trailer?
Yellowstone season 4: Did Mo betray Thomas Rainwater in new theory?
Yellowstone season 4: Fans convinced Rip will die after glaring clue
Yellowstone season 4: Garrett Randall’s wife related to Evelyn Dutton?
Yellowstone fans will have to wait until November 7 to find out for sure but there are still plenty of intriguing storylines to take away from the trailer to mull over in the meantime.
The most notable being that it looks like the Dutton’s Ranch will come under attack.
As the trailer progresses, fans see a panicked Monica and Tate (Brecken Merrill) be ordered to the bunkhouse by Lloyd (Forrie J Smith) – who himself is later bloodied and attacked at the ranch.
Meanwhile, Walker (Ryan Bingham) is shown shooting an unknown target – perhaps trying to kill the attackers who’ve made it onto the grounds.
Plus, there’s a lifeless Jimmy (Jefferson White) who’s shown being cradled by a distraught Mia (Eden Brolin).
Does this mean the young rancher has finally met his demise following his fall in season three?
Add to the mix Jamie and his father’s ominous interactions, Rip beating up a number of enemies and Thomas Rainwater’s (Gil Birmingham) righthand man Mo (Mo Brings Plenty) taking out assailants left, right and centre, and season four promises to be one of the most action-packed seasons to date.
Yellowstone season 4 premieres on the Paramount Network in the USA on Sunday, November 7. A UK release date is yet to be announced.
