TV favourite Bradley Walsh turned the air “Blankety Blank-ing blue” while filming a revival of the TV series.
The Chase star is hosting a Christmas special of the game show made famous by the late Sir Terry Wogan and Les Dawson.
While filming the episode with special guests Amir Khan, Emilia Fox, Sue Perkins and Jimmy Carr, Bradley was ribbed for fluffing his lines, and quipped: “We can’t get anyone back.
“The other presenters, they are all f***ing dead.”
The presenter also made a crude comment about contestant Susie Blower, a sexual health education worker.
Bradley said: “Sex education is great if your last name is Blower”.
He also poked fun at the Blankety Blank cheque book prizes.
He said: “Two per cent of every retail outlet in Britain takes cheques now. It is a joke really but there you are.
“You know the BBC. It is either that or an autopsy from Emilia on Silent Witness. So there you go.”
And, Amir Khan got into trouble by writing “S**t” on his answer card.
No studio audience was allowed but fans watched the recording via a stream.
The show’s warm-up man Stuart Holdham had to say sorry to those watching online and said: “I apologise on behalf of the BBC.”
A national treasure, Brad celebrated his 60th birthday earlier this year, which was marked by a special ITV documentary into his life and legacy.
Titled Bradley Walsh: Happy 60th Birthday and narrated by Jason Manford, the documentary special looked back at his career on the screen, which has spanned four decades.
Discussing the landmark birthday celebration on This Morning, he said at the time: "I'm ok but the way it sort of come about, yesterday seemed like my 50th birthday.
"I feel quite humbled and emotional really, being on telly, I didn't realise that was going to happen."
