'The Bachelor': Cassie Randolph Dropped the Restraining Order Against Colton Underwood, What Does This Mean for Their Relationship?

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph’s breakup has gotten extremely messy. The former Bachelor couple went from being on the verge of getting engaged to breaking up. Shortly after news of the breakup went public, Randolph filed a restraining order against Underwood. Now that she has dropped the restraining order, is there any hope for reconciliation?

Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph’s relationship and breakup

Randolph and Underwood met on Underwood’s season of The Bachelor. Underwood was so enamored with Randolph that he chose her before the final rose ceremony. Though they ended the season without an engagement, Randolph and Underwood continued dating and moved closer to one another.

In April of this year, the pair announced that they were separating.

“It’s been a crazy few months to say the least, Cass and I have been doing a lot of self-reflecting,” Underwood wrote on Instagram, announcing the breakup. “Sometimes people are just meant to be friends – and that’s OK. We both have grown immensely and been through so much together – so this isn’t the end of our story, it’s the start of a whole new chapter for us.”

The restraining order

On Sep. 11, things ramped up as Randolph filed a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend. The order was granted and Underwood had to stay a minimum of 100 yards away from Randolph, her house, and her workplace, according to Us Weekly.

According to the legal documents, the restraining order was in response to a number of “unsettling” text messages that Underwood had sent, repeated phone calls, and a tracking device that had been placed on her car.

Underwood reportedly had a hard time dealing with the breakup and the restraining order.

“[Colton] really isn’t ready to accept it yet and would love nothing more than to get Cassie back,” a source told HollywoodLife. “He is gutted that all of this is happening in front of the whole world.

“He hates that it has gotten to a place where she has filed a restraining order against him as he would love to just have a conversation with her to figure out their differences.”

Cassie Randolph dropped the restraining order

This week, Randolph dropped both the restraining order and police investigation against Underwood. Underwood gave a statement regarding the matter to TMZ

“Today Cassie asked the court to dismiss the temporary restraining order against me,” Underwood told the outlet. “The two of us were able to reach a private agreement to address any of Cassie’s concerns. I do not believe Cassie did anything wrong in filing for the restraining orders and also believe she acted in good faith. I appreciate everyone’s respect for privacy regarding this matter.”

Though Randolph and Underwood seem to be on cordial terms now, with Underwood speaking highly of Randolph post-restraining order, it is unlikely that they will get back together as they split due to wanting different things.

“Colton really wanted to settle down and get married — he’s been ready for a long time,” a source previously told People. “And Cassie just wasn’t ready. They both knew it wasn’t going to work.”
