Strictly Come Dancing's HRVY quits social media begging 'be kind' amid blossoming romance with Maisie Smith

STRICTLY Come Dancing finalist HRVY has told fans he is taking a break from his phone and social media.

The 21-year-old singer has had a whirlwind few months since starring on Strictly and allegedly starting up a romance with fellow contestant Maisie Smith.

Taking to Twitter on Sunday, HRVY posted: "thinking of you all, just taking some time away from my phone, be back soon ❤️."

He wrote the same message on his Instagram Story too, but added: "can't wait to be back making music."

However, a few hours later, HRVY tweeted: "please please can 2021 be kind to us."

HRVY's fans were quick to reply to his tweets, with one person writing: "we love you so much, take as much time as you need.

"I am always here for you if you need to talk or anything no matter what I promise."

Another fan added: "Mental health is something that needs to be healthy! Take all the time you need! Love you."

His break from social media comes after The Sun exclusively revealed he and 19-year-old Maisie had enjoyed their first snog.

The smitten couple had a drunken smooch backstage at Elstree film studios following Saturday’s grand final – almost three months since they first met.

They have been texting daily since and are planning on meeting in the new year if Covid restrictions are eased.

HRVY's mum is said to have given the young couple her blessing and even revealed her fondness for the EastEnders actress.

Nicky Cantwell, 53, told The Sun on Sunday: "Do I think there may be a chance of romance in the future? Maybe.

"We love Maisie and can see why they both get on well.

"The show might help him find love. It will be what it will be . . . but everybody loves a love story, don’t they?"

HRVY – real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell – previously called Maisie "very beautiful".

The pair flirted via social media and various interviews for weeks before the BBC show – with HRVY admitting that he slid into the EastEnders actress' DMs as soon as she was announced for Strictly.

He said at the time: "I messaged Maisie saying 'I guess you’re my competition this year then?'

"Obviously everyone’s my competition but I saw her on the Children in Need special and she’s really good."
