Strictly ban Nicola Adams from returning next year or in Christmas special – insisting she'd have an 'unfair advantage'

AXED Strictly star Nicola Adams has been banned from returning next year and won't be allowed to star in its Christmas special.

A statement from show bosses shared on Loose Women today stated boxing champ Nicola, 38, cannot return to the show "in the future" because she'd have an "unfair advantage".

Andrea McLean read the statement which said: "We announced before the series stated if anyone tested positive from COVID they'd be out of the competition.

"If someone has to miss a week it's called a bye and everyone gets one bye. But contestants are not allowed to miss more than one week.

"They're not allowed to re-enter the competition after they've taken part in the first episode.

"Jamie (Laing) was allowed back because he was injured before he began training and appeared on the show.

"Nicola can't come back because she will have an unfair advantage in the future as she's now had weeks of training."

The Sun revealed yesterday that Strictly's first same sex couple Nicola Adams and pro partner Katya had been axed after the dancer caught coronavirus.

And at least four crew members in contact with Katya have also had to isolate.
