Hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were back on Saturday night to host Strictly Come Dancing 2021. The programme saw the 15 celebrities take to the dancefloor for the first time in a bid to impress the judges. McFly star Tom Fletcher kicked off the show and got mixed reviews from the judges. He was quickly followed by Tilly Ramsay, who ended up making her mum, Tana cry after her stunning routine. However, Tom’s scores haven’t exactly been deemed as fair by GMB’s Richard Arnold.

The celebrities received mixed reviews from the judging panel, although, the audience booed when Craig Revel Horwood gave Tom and Amy a score of four.

Motsi Mabuse gave the duo a seven, while both Shirley Ballas and new judge Anton du Beke scored them a five.

Despite Amy and Tom being pleased with the overall score, Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Arnold thought the pair were scored unfairly.

In an exclusive interview with, the former Strictly star said: “I was furious that his score seemed to be quite low for the Cha Cha.”

He continued: “He is so light on his feet. I think he is going to be one to watch.”

Following the first live show, BBC bosses confirmed Tom and his dance partner Amy had both tested positive for COVID-19.

The duo will now have to self-isolate for 10 days, meaning they will miss the second live show.

“It’s a shame they’ve got to skip a week of training,” Richard added.

“But I gather they’re going to be back, aren’t they?” the GMB host said.

“They’ve been given a free pass which I imagine is the policy this year.”

Tom and Amy will miss Saturday’s second live show, but the duo will be back the following week to compete once again.

Since Tom confirmed he had contracted the virus, he has been keeping his fans updated during his time in isolation.
