Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) problems persisted during the latest episode of EastEnders, as she was threatened at knife point by Michaela Turnbull (Fiona Allen), but — with her having vanished off the face of the earth in tonight’s instalment — one can’t help but wonder if Michaela has taken the young woman prisoner?
Whitney has well and truly has the year from hell, as she was left in fear of her life when evil Leo (Tom Wells) refused to leave her alone. Little did she know that he then took up residence in her attic, before trying to kill her.
Leo died amid a physical struggle with Whitney, and she’s found herself facing a murder charge as a result. However, Gray (Toby-Alexander Smith) was able to secure her bail after discovering evidence which suggested that Leo was a threat — something which corroborated her self-defence argument.
Being back in Walford has only proceeded to bring with it more trauma for Whitney, as Michaela returned in an effort to track the young woman down — and she’s made her life hell ever since, so much so that Whitney considered absconding.
However, Max was able to talk her out of doing a runner, and — therefore — she disposed of the goodbye notes she’d written for several of her nearest and dearest, but before she could celebrate, Michaela threatened her at knifepoint.
During tonight’s instalment, the residents of Walford become somewhat concerned when they’re unable to locate Whitney, and Gray is alarmed when his boss Laura arrives for a meeting.
Meanwhile, Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) locates the letter from Whitney and assumes she’s fled.
The question on everyone’s lips is: where is Whitney?
With Michaela having threatened the young woman, one can’t help but wonder if the unhinged mother of stalker Leo has perhaps taken Whitney a prisoner?
Has she kidnapped her?
It’s certainly a possibility, as Michaela wants nothing more than to avenge her son, and with Whitney having proven that she’s got the support of the entirety of Albert Square, isolating her from her friends and family would certainly give Michaela a better chance to have a conversation with her.
Is Whitney in danger?
Or has she actually done a runner?
