Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in Coronation Street has Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) convinced he wants to build a friendship with him, when in actual face it’s all part of Todd’s plan to win Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) back.
Todd is currently paying Will (Ben Hackett) to pretend to be a troubled and vulnerable teenager living in a toxic family environment. Will has called the helpline Paul works for to speak to him, tricking Paul into thinking he’s in trouble, leading him to break the helpline rules and meet with Will on a number of different occasions.
Paul has already spent time in prison for attacking who he thought was Will’s abusive stepfather, and as upcoming episodes will show, Todd steps things up a gear as he uses Will once more to destroy Paul, leaving him devastated.
As a nervous Paul readies himself for his day in court, Todd makes a furtive call to Will. Having been handed a community order, a relieved Paul and Billy accept Todd’s offer of a drink.
Meanwhile, on Todd’s instructions, Will forces his way into their flat, and tragedy ensues, as Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) is left fighting for her life.
Craig (Colson Smith) calls to investigate the burglary, and Paul steels himself and reveals that the culprit was Will. A furious Billy reads the riot act to Paul for bringing Will into their lives.
Paul feels terrible, but Todd meets with Will in the ginnel and slips him £50, making him dispose of his incriminating phone and tells him he never wants to set eyes on him again.
Billy rows with Paul for getting embroiled with Will, is their relationship over?
