Spoilers: Jay replaces Callum with Peter in EastEnders and Lola is devastated

Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) is doing her utmost to put her dalliance with Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) in the past in EastEnders, but doing so has been harder than she thought it would be, and it’ll be only get harder in the coming episodes, as Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) reveals that he’s replacing Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) with Peter.

Lola is desperately doing all she can to prevent Jay from finding out about her one-night-stand, and it’s something that’s been on her mind a lot in recent episodes, as Jay and Peter have become rather good friends.

A worried Lola revealed her dalliance with Peter to Callum last week, and the hopeful police officer proved incredibly supportive — informing her that for the time being, she should keep shtum.

During the latest episode, Peter opened up to Jay following Bobby’s (Clay Milner Russell) collapse — revealing that he finds it hard to be around his little brother.

As the two discussed things further, Lola arrived, and she was horrified to see them talking — fearing that her secret could be revealed.

In the next episode, she’s horrified once more, as she learns from Jay that he’s intending on replacing Callum — who’s evidently leaving the funeral parlour following his successful police assessment — with Peter.

What will transpire?

Will Peter and Jay’s new business venture result in the truth being revealed?

Will Lola decide to reveal all?

Or will Peter perhaps beat her to it?

EastEnders airs these scenes on Tuesday 5 May at 7:30pm on BBC One.
