Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) has been away from the cobbles for a while. In reality, Maureen’s time away from Coronation Street has been down to waiting for her Coronavirus vaccines but in the soap, Evelyn has been on a scenic railway journey with her friend.
With Roy’s (David Neilson) focus solely on looking after Nina (Mollie Gallagher) following her and Seb’s (Harry Visinoni) brutal attack, the last thing he needs is Evelyn’s nasty remarks.
After Nina’s operation, she tells Roy and Abi (Sally Carman) that all she can remember of the evening was seeing Corey and his mates.
When it’s Nina’s turn for questioning, she tells the police about her walk with Seb but struggles to remember anything about the attack.
Evelyn makes her return and later calls in the café.
However, when she’s rude about Kirk’s (Andy Whyment) IQ, Roy likens her vitriol to that suffered by Nina and throws her out.
It’s a tense situation all round for the Weatherfield residents, but will Evelyn apologise to Roy?
Will Roy allow Evelyn to support him?
