The USA Network series is also available to watch on Netflix, and fans were thrilled when the crime drama was renewed for a fifth season. Unfortunately, Queen of the South was hit by severe delays following the coronavirus pandemic, but viewers will be able to tune in and ask the cast questions next Tuesday.

Alice Braga is confirmed to be returning as Teresa Mendoza for a thrilling fifth season of Queen of the South.

The series will pick up where the gripping finale left off, after Teresa was suddenly reunited with her ex-boyfriend, James Valdez (played by Peter Gadiot).

Although the USA Network has confirmed Queen of the South will continue, due to the coronavirus pandemic it is still unclear when the cast and crew will be able to return to production.

During the unexpected hiatus, digital fan festival Chat4Good have announced their latest live panel will feature the cast of the wildly successful cartel drama, including Alice Braga.

Braga will be joined by season four regulars Alimi Ballard (Marcel), Molly Burnett (Kelly Anne), Vera Cherny (Oksana), Hemky Madera (Pote) and Ryan O’Nan (King George) for the panel on August 25.

Also in attendance will be new showrunner for the fourth and fifth seasons, Dailyn Rodriguez.

Fans will get the exciting opportunity to watch the panel answer questions about the last four seasons, and there may even be some hints towards what’s to come in season five.

Eager viewers can even upgrade for an exclusive one-to-one chat with a member of the cast.

Following the announcement, Braga spread the news to her excited fans with a new story on Instagram.

The star said: “Excited for this. Thank you @chat4good for supporting @apiboficial Can’t wait! Please join us Aug. 25th!”

Braga also commented on the original post: “Can’t wait!” while her co-star Alimi Ballard topped her enthusiasm and added: “LET’S GO DAMMIT!!!”

Although Queen of the South fans are unlikely to get any news regarding the release of season five, the event should prove a must-watch for those keen to learn how Teresa’s journey will continue.

The shocking arrival of James in the last season teased a major new threat still to come heading into season five.

The upcoming premiere will also see Teresa continue to grieve the loss of her godson, Tony (Julian Silva), who was killed by her latest rival, Judge Lafayette (David Andrews).

Braga has previously hinted towards the Judge finally getting his comeuppance in the next season, and the panel could shed light on Teresa’s plan of action.

Meanwhile, co-showrunner Ben Lobato has promised a major part for James Valdez, after he seemed to depart the series at the end of season three.

Lobato revealed to Entertainment Weekly: “We decided to get him back in and set him up for season five and let’s go.”

Teresa Mendoza moved her operation to New Orleans in the last season, and her new deal with the Russians could prove disastrous.

A teaser trailer has revealed more feuds in the upcoming season, and fans are hotly anticipating the show’s return to see if the Queen of the South herself can keep her business afloat.

Queen of the South season 4 is available to stream on Netflix.
