Prince Harry mocked by Gogglebox stars over Late Late Show appearance

Gogglebox regulars the Siddiqui family and siblings Pete and Sophie were left baffled by Prince Harry's decision to go on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

The TV stars couldn't hide their bemusement after the Duke of Sussex, who is married to actress Meghan Markle, joined appeared on the US chat show.

During the segment, Harry told James how his grandma – aka The Queen – bought his son Archie a waffle maker for Christmas.

The unusual gift was at the request of the Duchess of Sussex who Harry says makes an organic mix for the tot.

Watching the show, Umar Siddiqui from Derby joked: "So was this waffle maker an actual person? 'I am here just to make your waffles'," as his family laughed away on the sofas next to him.

The tongue-in-cheek gag went down a storm with viewers.

One viewer giggled: "Can always rely on the Siddiqui’s for a hilarious one liner!"

Another chimed in: "Most astute family on the show."

Speaking about Queen Elizabeth's gift, Harry said: "My grandmother asked us what Archie wanted for Christmas, and Meg said a waffle maker.

"So she sent us a waffle maker for Archie, so breakfast now Meg makes up a beautiful organic mix, in the waffle maker, flip it, out it comes.

"He loves it. And now I have waffles for breakfast, bit of yogurt, bit of jam on top. I don't know if that's the right thing to do. Berries, bit of honey."

Stunned, James interrupted: "Sorry you're glossing over the fact that I cannot for the life of me imagine the Queen ordering a waffle maker to be sent to Santa Barbara. I can't get my head around it."

Seemingly embarrassed, Harry replied: "I don't even know how to comment on that.

"Archie wakes up in the morning and literally just goes 'waffle?'".

Gogglebox then cut to Pete and Sophie couldn't mocking Harry for his comments.

Sophie mocked: "Waffle as his first word?

"I would be saying, you are having some Cookie Crisp you little s***. I don't have time to be knocking up an organic mix."

Smirking, Pete added: "There is some Golden Nuggets in there, get them down you."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at the centre of a media storm after filming a sit down tell-all with US TV host Oprah Winfey.

The two hour special will air in the US on Sunday night before being aired in the UK at 9pm on ITV, Monday, March 8.

In preview clips teased by CBS, Meghan tells of her struggles to cope with new life in the family and claims that she was blocked from doing a sit down chat with Oprah ahead of her wedding.

The former Deal of No Deal box girl said: "We have the ability to make our own choices, in a away I couldn't have said to yes to you then. That wasn't my choice to make.

"As an adult who lived a really independent life to then go into this construct that is… different, than i think people imagine it to be, it's really liberating to have the right and the privilege in some ways to be able to say, 'yes, I'm ready to talk.'”
