Netflix users furious as streaming platform temporarily goes down

Netflix temporarily went down for thousands of its users across the world this evening, with many "furious" about the "inconvenient" timing.

Between 8pm and 9:30pm this evening, the streaming platform stopped working for many of its users, with an error code showing up when users tried to log in.

Netflix's website showed a message which read "This page isn't working." followed by " is currently unable to handle this request."

It then stated "HTTP ERROR 503".

Another message read " took too long to respond".

The Netflix app read the error message: "Netflix has encountered an error. Retrying in 20 seconds."

Understandably, Netflix's subscribers flooded to social media to air their frustrations about the service going down, only three days after its popular original series YOU released its third season.

"Did #Netflix just do a #Facebook? Seems like it's down…" said one unhappy user.

Another added: "Guess it's not just my Neflix that's down, FURIOUS!!!!!"

"CHEERS NETFLIX!!! Right when I was getting to a good bit of You", said another angry user, whilst a fellow YOU fan agreed: "netflix why would you go down while i'm deeply invested in season 3 of you".

A few jokers also shared their thoughts on the platform, as one suggested: "Has Joe Goldberg killed Netflix? #netflixdown"

Another joked: "#Netflix down for anyone else? Facebook must have bought them".

The hashtag #NetflixDown is now trending on Twitter, with thousands of Tweets discussing the issue.

Netflix is yet to respond to the claims of the outage, but the site now seems to be back up and running.
