Masked Singer fans suspicious as BBC star Kym Marsh responds to Panda rumours

Kym Marsh has responded responded to online comments that she is Panda on The Masked Singer UK.

The Coronation Street actress was forced to speak out and apologise to fans after she'd bombarded with messages from folk on Twitter who were certain the soap star, 45, is behind the identity of black and white bear.

On Saturday night's wacky ITV show, Panda revealed a number of clues that led fans to believe Kym had been hiding behind the mask.

In the VT, Panda told suspicious viewers that they had came against a "fork in the road" with their original career path.

The character then remarked that the made a "choice to explore another avenue" when it came to work.

Fans flocked Twitter with their guesses – with many having the same idea that Panda had been Kym.

"Kym Marsh!! Career changed direction and Panda really sounds like her tonight," read one comment.

Another online user reached the same conclusion, adding: "Panda is Kym Marsh. She started in Hearsay and she went solo. Different lives – actress."

A third agreed: "Kym Marsh – singer, acting on TV film and West End."

After receiving masses of messages from people online, Kym took to her own platform to shoot down rumours.

Her tweet read: "Sorry to those who think I'm on Masked Singer, unless there is two of me, I am currently on tour in @FatalOnStage just finished our first week in Brighton!

"Thank you so much @TheatreRoyalBTN for being so so wonderful!! Next stop @TheatreRoyalNew come see it guys it's fab!"

In spite of her apology and denial, fans were quick to rumble a faux pas with Kym's excuse and piled in to tell the soap star that the Masked Singer UK was pre-recorded.

Kym chirped back: "Oh I didn’t know that! Oh well even that goes to show, I had no idea hahah."

The Masked Singer returns this Saturday on ITV
