Love Island star Chloe Burrows has addressed claims she had an affair with an unnamed married man, before heading into the villa.
The 25-year-old, who is among the cast for the ITV2 dating show, has had fans talking with her controversial introduction VT, where she stated that men who are taken are ‘not really off limits’.
She also revealed that she fell for someone at work but then found out he was married with children, but still ‘drunk calls him most weekends’.
A tweet later went viral when a Twitter user claimed that it was her dad Chloe had been intimate with, with the message – which is no longer visible – reading: ‘Dad’s PA has gone on Love Island and admitted an affair. How’s your day?’
However, speaking to press including Metro.co.uk ahead of the launch show, the star vowed that there was no truth in the tweet.
When asked about the claims, the marketing executive said: ‘I was a PA for someone years ago but he didn’t have a daughter… So that’s awkward.
‘I’ve actually never been a person assistant. I was a junior paraplanner ages ago. But again that married man thing has really been taken massively out [of context].’
Chloe did confess to dating a married man, but insisted that she had ‘absolutely no idea’ about his family.
‘I was seeing someone for a while, I had no idea he was married, like absolutely no idea. Then someone at work was like, “Oh he’s married with kids”,’ she continued, explaining it left her wary of dating in the future.
‘If you can be capable of such big lie… I feel like, when you fancy a boy, you do really want to believe them anyway.
‘But I’d like to think I’m more wary now.’
Chloe opened up about her dating history in her introduction video, giving fans a glimpse of what we can expect when she hits the villa.
’You would really think there were fit men in the city but there really aren’t. Most of them are married or have girlfriends so they are “off limits”,’ she said, laughing: ‘They’re not really off limits.
‘I mean I’m partial to a married man. I did meet someone at work, I thought it was love at first sight, until my manager reminded me of his wife and kids. Doesn’t mean I don’t drunk call him most weekends.’
She also warned: ‘Any girl should be wary of her man but definitely around me but it’s always his fault.
‘I am not going to make a move on someone who is really invested in his girl but I mean yeah, if I like someone then I like them.’
Love Island kicks off on June 28, at 9pm, on ITV2.
