Loki is back and this time has his own Disney Plus show. Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) will be confronted by new characters and challenges unlike anything the Marvel franchise has seen before. But who else is in the cast of Loki?
Who is in the cast of Loki?
Loki is the third made for TV series on Disney Plus set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The show will be picking up directly from where fans last saw Loki in Avengers: Endgame, after he stole the Tesseract in the past.
Marvel is staying typically quiet on the series, not wanting to give any potential spoilers away ahead of its June 9 premiere.
Michael Waldron, the head writer of the series recently spoke with Total Film and revealed that the show would have “wide-reaching ramifications across the MCU moving forward.”
He said: “All of these stories, in their own way, are interconnected, and have ramifications. So, you know, was I having to clean up some of the messes that I made [with Loki]? Maybe so.”
Loki – Tom Hiddleston
Tom Hiddleston is back once again in the role of Loki, this being his seventh time portraying the character after debuting in 2011’s Thor 10 years ago.
Following Disney Plus’s Loki, Hiddleston will be back voicing the character in Marvel’s What If…? which debuts August 2021.
Following this, it isn’t known if the character will return again, with the future depending on the events of this series.
In this new series, he won’t just be playing the Loki fans know, but also many different versions of the character across the multiverse.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Kevin Feige said: “He’s been around for thousands of years. He had all sorts of adventures, wanting to fill in the blanks and see much more of Loki’s story [was] the initial desire [for the series].”
“Part of the fun of the multiverse and playing with time is seeing other versions of characters,” he teased. “And other versions of the titular character in particular.”
Mobius M. Mobius – Owen Wilson
Owen Wilson is joining the expansive franchise as Mobius M. Mobius, Loki’s caretaker in the series.
The character has been in the comics since 1991 and was an original member of the Time Variance Authority.
In the Loki show, he will be one of the authority figures of the facility that protects the multiverse and makes sure various Loki’s don’t get out of control.
The character looks to be an ally from the trailers that Marvel has shared, however, the character’s true motives are yet to be seen.
Sophia Di Martino
In a currently unknown role, Sophia De Martino has also joined the cast of the universe bending series.
The star brings with her a wealth of experience, featuring in countless films and television series alike.
Recently, she appeared in the series Hitmen, Silent Witness and Flowers as the characters of Amy and Bertha.
The British actress has also made appearances in Friday Night Dinner, 4 O’Clock Club, and Mount Pleasant.
Richard E. Grant
Another screen legend to be making an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Richard E. Grant, has a storied filmography.
Most recently he starred in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as General Pryde, however, his career goes back a lot further than that.
Some more recent TV highlights include Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey and Jekyll and Hyde.
However, his big-screen debut was in 1987’s Withnail & I where he played the title character Withnail – the film has since gone on to be a cult classic and fan favourite.
It isn’t known what character Grant will be playing in Loki.
Loki will be available to watch exclusively on Disney Plus from June 9.
