Little Mix: The Search: Since September crowned winners of competition

Since September have won Little Mix: The Search, winning over the public with their two performances in the final of the BBC One talent competition.

The band faced tough competition in Saturday night’s live final, going up against Nostalia, Since September, Melladaze and YChange in the last stage.

The boyband were ecstatic as it was announced they’d won the competition, confetti falling on the stage as Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall jumped in excitement.

The winners will join Little Mix next year as they embark on their 2021 Confetti Tour.

They won the public vote in the final after delivering two powerhouse performances on the show.

Little Mix band member Jesy Nelson was noticeably missing from the final, her bandmates Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade continuing to judge in her absence.

On Saturday morning, a representative for the band released a statement saying that Jesy would not be present at the final because she is ‘unwell’.

Little Mix paid tribute to Jesy on Twitter, writing: ‘We’re so sad Jesy won’t be able to join us tonight, but we have such an amazing show in store for you all x.’

During the final of Little Mix: The Search, Leigh-Anne became visibly emotional while praising the diversity of girlband Nostalia.

The 29-year-old told the band: ‘This group is just so powerful and not just because of your powerhouse vocals and how amazing you girls are but the fact that my little niece can watch her TV screen and see girls that look like her. That’s so important!’

She then added: ‘There is a space in the music industry for you girls.’
