KATIE Price has quit social media to take time out of the spotlight as doctors urged her to rest and heal her broken feet.
Katie, 42, had flouted medical advice by carrying on as normal after doctors sliced open her heels during foot surgery.
And just two days ago she stuck her feet in plaster casts out of a car window as she was being driven down a motorway, filming it on Instagram.
But Katie ended up in hospital last week in "agony" with doctors begging her to stay in bed and let her feet rest.
Now she's decided to block all distractions and will take a break from social media and the pressures to post content for her fans.
A source told The Sun Online: "Doctors have told her she needs to rest in order to heal.
"She's been living her life almost as normal and not taking it seriously, and now she's found herself getting a talking-to by the doctor.
"She's determined to get better now and is taking a two-week break from everything to focus on healing."
Katie was rushed to hospital as medics fear she had suffered an infection after her operation, which they are now treating.
"She was in so much pain that she was in tears,” a source close to the model said.
Doctors have now told her she must lie down and keep her legs raised as much as possible and she’s been following their orders as much as she can.
The source added: “One of the hardest things for Katie has been the lack of sleep. The injury has made it nigh on impossible for her to get any rest and slowly that has ground her down.
“Doctors did warn Katie that it wouldn’t be plain sailing but she is gutted at the moment and everyone is having to rally to try and keep her spirits up.”
Katie could be facing further surgery due to the injuries she suffered on holiday in Turkey last month.
She will remain in casts between three and six months before she can start her rehab.
The Sun revealed in July that the former glamour girl had been involved in a freak accident while on holiday in Turkey when jumping off a wall at a water park.
