Gillian McKeith has been labelled a "contraband queen" after she revealed that she had smuggled salt into the I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, breaking the show's rules for the second time.
The TV star, 63, previously smuggled salt into the Australian jungle during her first appearance on the show back in 2010, when she was caught with it hidden in her underwear.
Bringing her old tricks to the South African camp in the show's all-star series, titled I'm A Celebrity… South Africa, Gillian told fellow campmate Helen Flanagan that she had once again smuggled salt into the camp.
Viewers were quick to take to Twitter to share their reaction to the controversy, which would soon cause a divide in camp.
One fan of Gillian's antics wrote: "She’s at it again…. [three laughing emojis] the Contraband Queen!!!", and a second added: "Gillian at it again sneaking stuff in brilliant #ImACelebrity."
However, some viewers accused ITV bosses of staging the contraband debacle, pointing out that having been on the show before all the campmates would be aware of the rules.
"Can’t help but think Gillian was told by the producers to smuggle salt in again for the “drama” bc they all know the rules #ImACeleb" argued one viewer.
And another added: "Not Gillian acting like she doesn’t know if she’ll get in trouble by having contraband. SHE'S DONE IT BEFORE FGS #ImACeleb."
"Everyone pretending to be shocked that Gillian AGAIN brought in contraband" joked a third.
After Gillian revealed her contraband to Helen, a number of her fellow campmates were also forced to give up items they had smuggled in, after a Bush Bulletin arrived.
Reading the Bulletin, Georgia Toffolo said: "Celebrities, there is contraband in camp. You will not get your dinner until you’ve surrendered all contraband. There’s an amnesty bowl in the Telegraph."
Alongside Gillian, who had to give up tea bags, almonds, salt, and mints, Myleene Klass revealed she had hidden seasoning in a hair scrunchie, while Paul Burrell admitted to having a "tiny bit of coffee" before adding that it was nearly all gone.
Asked by her campmates how she'd smuggled all these items in, Gillian replied:“All in my bra, I had a double bra actually, two bras!”
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, she added: “I wasn’t smuggling, per se, I was enhancing my boobs! I have some mints in my pocket and some almonds that mysteriously got into my trousers.
“You know how some people make milk? My breasts seem to make almonds and mints!”
