Dave Myers gives health update on This Morning
The Hairy Bikers will soon delight fans by returning to screens as Dave Myers’ continues to fight a “brutal” cancer battle.
The popular Geordie cooking duo haven’t taken part in many shows together since Dave Myers began treatment for cancer.
Dave was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and Hairy Bikers co-star and close pal Si King has been updating fans on recent TV show appearances.
While the 65-year-old is still undergoing gruelling chemotherapy treatment, he has returned to work Si, much to the delight of the Hairy Bikers fans.
The duo have now announced they will be back on the BBC with a new show which will see them travelling the land to find out all about Britain’s culinary favourites.
The Hairy Bikers Go West will see the pair exploring the stunning west coast of the UK during their food-inspired adventure.
A BBC description of the show reads: “The Hairy Bikers Go West celebrates the amazing food producers, cuisine and vista of Britain’s west shores.
This eight-part series for BBC Two and iPlayer sees the return of best friends Si and Dave in a celebration of enduring friendship, foodies’ passion and the people of this part of the world.
“They will travel from north to south discovering the producers, farmers and chefs that are contributing to a modern British culinary revolution.”

The reunion will come as a relief to fans of the chefs who have been keeping updated with Dave’s condition.
He recently described how “brutal” his cancer treatment has been.
“When you first start chemotherapy… it’s quite hard. I’m still having it. It really was brutal,” he remarked.
“I lost so much weight and then it’s a battle to get your calories in,” he continued on Tommy Banks’ Seasoned podcast.
Thankfully, the star seems to be on the road to recovery as he returns to screens doing what he does best – cooking and sampling all kinds of dishes with Si as the pair inspires audiences to try their hand at rustling up their own meals.
“It is a huge step back to normality,” Dave enthused while speaking to The Mirror.
He added: “It’s a work in progress and it’s all going the right way. I’m getting there and I’m back on the bike.”
The Hairy Bikers Go West will air on BBC Two, with a start date yet to be confirmed.
