Emotional Gemma Collins pays tribute to Harry Derbidge’s ex-boyfriend Rhys Alan Smith on the day of his funeral

GEMMA Collins had paid tribute to Towie co-star Harry Derbidge's ex-boyfriend Rhys Alan Smith on the day of his funeral.

The 40-year-old took to Instagram to share a number of loving posts about her much-loved friend who tragically passed away last month.

Today his close friends and family will be celebrating his life.

This morning Gemma posted a lovely video of Rhys singing in a restaurant while on holiday together.

She captioned the footage: "My one in a million ❤️ @rhysalan you was a little brother to me we all loved you like our own and today is going to be incredibly tough because it still doesn’t seem real.

"I would give anything to bring you back. You was nothing but sunshine ☀️ love and laughs.

"I hope you find peace where you are and I will see you again one day ❤️ .

"I think of you all the time and I loved you so much what I can’t get over is I spoke to you the same night you passed away 😥 .

"Always in my heart ❤️ forever and ever #mygucci 💔."

The Diva Forever star also shared a video montage of some of her fondest memories with him.

Some of the snaps included Rhys with Gemma's parents Alan and Joan and a selection of gorgeous selfies.

In another post the "heartbroken" telly favourite shared a selfie of them posing at the beach and promised that she'll never forget him.

Gemma explained: "Going to be a very tough day my Gucci @rhysalan.

"I have been heartbroken. Recently you was like a little brother to me. I love you so much and I would give anything I have to magically bring you back.

"Everyone loved you and you was so special RIP.

"I can't believe you are gone, but never forgotten."

Gemma was left "absolutely heartbroken" when she found out that her "close friend" who was "more like a little brother" had died.

She took some time away from social media and explained to her fans that it was because of the devastating news.

Earlier this month the Celebrity Big Brother star revealed that Rhys sent her a 'sign' after his tragic death.

Gemma was so distraught that she had to take a break from working, but during a recent episode of her podcast, she said: "I really got some comfort the other day, which started to make me feel better…

"I was watering my trees and a little white angel feather fell down as I was watering my trees.

"If you listen to my podcast you know I believe in that sort of thing and it did give me a bit of comfort.

"My dear friend Rhys, may he rest in peace."

Rhys – who has been at the centre of a recent storyline involving Bobby Norris and Harry on the ITVBe show – was close friends with a number of Towie cast members.

After the news was confirmed that he had passed, a number of stars commented on his recent Instagram picture to show their respect.

Gemma wrote: “My heart will never be the same. I won’t ever be the same, love you Reece.”·

James Argent added: “Love you mate.”

Saffron Lempriere commented: "Love you darling ❤️."

Harry and Rhys dated back in 2013 and make-up artist Harry later admitted he slept with Rhys when he had started dating Bobby.

He is thought to have spent time living in Dubai before returning to Tenerife in Spain, where he is believed to have been training as a masseuse.
