Emmerdale star Laura Norton shared spoke about the early stages of her pregnancy as she and boyfriend Mark Jordon await the arrival of their first baby together.
The couple, known for playing Kerry Wyatt and Daz Spencer respectively on the soap, announced their baby news earlier this month.
They moved in together for lockdown this year and are excited about becoming parents.
Appearing on Wednesday’s Loose Women, Laura showed hosts Andrea McLean, Linda Robson and Brenda Edwards how far along she is.
Sat next to Mark on their sofa, the actress stood up and ran her hands over her ‘neat’ bump.
While the pair – who met on set – haven’t found out the gender of their baby, Linda had a feeling it will be a boy as it’s ‘a nice neat bump all round the front’.
Asked if they had found out the gender, Laura replied: ‘No, not yet.’
Mark, who has two children with his ex Siobhan Finneran, has been engaged to Laura for a few months.
The pandemic has meant that unfortunately they have had to put their wedding plans on ice.
‘We had hoped it would be this year,’ Mark shared.
‘I went off on a tour and we were planning everything and we were like, “As soon as the tour is done we can scoot off…”
‘And now this pandemic has happened. And now something else [Laura’s pregnancy] has happened.’
Although it is plain sailing for them now, initially they were hesitant to strike up a romance.
Laura told the panel: ‘When we first told each other that we liked each other, we were like, “shall we just leave it?”
‘Then Mark got brave and asked me on a date.’
Mark added: ‘Which didn’t go brilliantly, which set the tone for our relationship.’
Speaking to OK! magazine about their happy news, Laura said: ‘It’s something I’ve always hoped would happen. I hope my instincts kick in. I feel very calm and safe knowing that I’ve seen what an amazing father Mark and how brilliant his kids are.’
The baby is due on Mark’s birthday of January 25 and Laura had to inform bosses four days before returning to set post lockdown that she was expecting.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12.30pm on ITV.
