Dermot O’Leary ‘disgusted’ with This Morning bosses as he rants about TV buffet

Daily Star’s Inside Hot TV newsletter sees Ed Gleave send you telly’s hot takes straight to your inbox every Sunday

Dermot O'Leary couldn't resist making a playful dig at This Morning bosses during Friday's show.

The former X Factor host hit out at the quality of the spread put on by producers as part of an etiquette segment on the show.

Dermot and his co-host Alison Hammond sat down at two tables full of Easter treats but he was far from impressed.

Not only were their glasses empty meaning they couldn't even have a drink of water, but Dermott moaned the spread in general looked 'very dry'.

After Alison praised their etiquette specialist for explaining how to host a socially distant gathering Dermot chimed in: "As for the spread, I am quite frankly disgusted."

Viewers noticed that Dermot appeared so hungry he was say 'chewing a straw'.

Hitting out one fan moaned: "WTF Dermot? Sitting chewing a straw? Please get him off this programme."

Another disagreed gushing: "Can Alison and Dermot present This Morning every day please. I will allow a three-way with Phil as well."

Alison and Dermot began hosting Friday's on This Morning at the start of the year after replacing Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford.

While the move was controversial at the time, the TV duo have gone down a storm with ITV viewers.

Eamonn and Ruth still host the show during school holidays.

Reports claimed the couple were stunned by the move but publicly have wished Dermott and Alison nothing but the best.

Chatting to Daily Star Online earlier this year, Rylan explained how he thought the move was simply the show changing over time.

The Big Brother legend said: "Ruth and Eamonn are my telly mum and dad, they have been since day one.

"They have been my biggest supporters out of the entire industry.

"I have learnt a lot from both of them, they are genuine friends of mine outside of work.

"I would love to see them [do] loads of things, they are brilliant."

He continued: "They are still doing holidays and stuff on This Morning so it is nice we will still see them on there, but if it frees up their time to do other stuff then I really hope so, as they are really lovely people."
