Daily Star’s Inside Hot TV newsletter sees Ed Gleave send you telly’s hot takes straight to your inbox every Sunday
Dan Walker was left red-faced on BBC Breakfast today (June 7) after repeatedly mixing up Prince William and Kate Middleton with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
The Sussexes have been at the front of the news agenda since Meghan gave birth to her second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, on Friday.
And they were clearly on Dan’s mind as he spoke to Gordon Brown about his desire to reverse the government’s cut on foreign aid.
“Can I ask as well, you met recently with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Scotland… I don’t expect you to tell us what went on in that meeting but did the issue of Scottish independence come up?” he asked.
Dan was actually referencing William and Kate’s recent whirlwind tour of Scotland, but Gordon did not appear to pick up on the faux-pas as he revealed he spoke to the future king about football.
When the cameras cut back to the studio, the former Football Focus presenter tried to correct himself – but again slipped up.
“Did I say Sussex?” he asked. “Sorry, I meant the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, forgive me Mr Brown…
“Did I say Sussex again? Cambridge! Sorry, I don’t know what’s happening with my brain.”
The former prime minister was seen laughing at the mishap before explaining how he and the Duke chatted at length about Scotland International and Aston Villa playmaker John McGinn.
“As you know, the Euros are coming up. Scotland’s about to play England and of course Prince William is a big fan of Aston Villa.

“We have a player in common that we’re both fond of – John McGinn who plays for Scotland.
“We discussed these things but I’m not going to talk about the other things and I don’t think you’d expect me to do so.”
It comes after Dan was left in stitches after being shut down by co-host Sally Nugent over a failed strip joke.
