Corrie’s Paul Foreman set to ‘hit rock bottom’ amid Todd Grimshaw comeback

Coronation Street 's Paul Foreman is set for a harrowing storyline as the character will "hit rock bottom".

The factory assistant, played by Peter Ash, has seemingly been happier than ever living with his vicar love Billy Mayhew.

Viewers saw the pair celebrate Paul's birthday on Wednesday, with the couple declaring their love and revealing they want to get married.

However, things are said to be about to take a dark turn, leaving Paul struggling to cope.

According to The Sun, he will turn to booze in upcoming harrowing episodes.

A source told the publication: "Paul hits the bottle in a bad way and no-one can get through to him.

"He spends days surrounded by empty cans and his own thoughts.

"It's going to be a real test of his relationship with Billy to see if they get through it.

"And Todd's return won't help matters."

It's recently been revealed that Todd is coming back to the cobbles after going missing for three years.

Billy's ex will make his return to the ITV soap after years of being on the run, but it's now emerged that he had been cleared of all charges and had no reason to stay away.

The vicar has become obsessed with finding him, despite now being in a happy relationship with Paul.

Corrie announced that Gareth Pierce will be taking over from Bruno Langley to play Eileen Grimshaw's son.
