Coronation Street upset as Max Turners relationship with David suffers damage

Coronation Street: Blake and Chris attack Max in 2022

Earlier this year, Max Turner (played by Paddy Bever) was arrested after he got involved with Griff’s (Michael Condron) racist gang which resulted in the stabbing of Alya Nazir (Sair Khan).

Being sent to the Secure Training Centre, where his former enemy Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) now works, it is clear Max is struggling.

As David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) is worried about his son, he asks Daniel to keep an eye on him to try and find out how he’s doing.

Spotting cuts and bruises on his face, Daniel soon realises things aren’t going well which is later validated after finding a video Max left on his phone.

Watching the heart-wrenching clip, Daniel decides to try and help Max as he tells David about the video.

However, it looks as though his good intentions could backfire when David pays Max a visit to the STC next week.

Seeing Max, David starts to quiz him on his mental state which makes the teen quickly realise Daniel has been speaking to him.

Admitting to seeing the video he made, Max is furious at the betrayal.

Seeing his extreme reaction, David confides in Daniel later on at No.8 over how concerned he is for Max which gives him an idea.

Back at the STC, Daniel gives Max his phone and reveals there’s a message on it from his dad.

Later on, the teen admits he’s watched the video but has decided not to record a reply, still furious at him for trying to intervene.

Will he later pluck up the courage to tell his dad what’s really going on? Or has David’s meddling damaged their relationship for good?

Recently, viewers of the ITV soap saw Max try and fit in with the other boys in the STC after one of them noticed how close he was to their teacher.

In an attempt to throw them off, he decided to disrupt the class, which didn’t go unnoticed by Daniel who realised what he was doing.

However, fans have been left concerned for his well-being as they demand Daniel take action.

TellyVsPodcasts said: “By Daniel withholding serious info on Max’s mental health- to cover his a**e about having his phone in prison he is putting Max at risk & preventing him getting appropriate support & intervention from professionals #Corrie”

Pam_debeauvoir added: “Daniel could have said to the counsellor that he has a strong feeling that from the way Max has been talking and acting, he is vulnerable and they must keep an eye on him. Lay it on thick before it’s too late. He’s struggling and needs support.”
