Former Coronation Street star Rebecca Ryan has welcomed a new addition to her family, announcing that she’s given birth to a baby girl.
Having revealed in December last year that she was pregnant, the actor shared a first look at her daughter in an Instagram post shared on Tuesday May 2.
The 32-year-old shared a photo of the newborn resting on a furry blanket with her eyes closed, wearing a teeny striped babygro.
‘Welcome to the world my beautiful baby girl Aurora ✨💕,’ she wrote in the caption, revealing that the baby shares the same name as Sleeping Beauty.
Numerous stars and fans have rushed to congratulate Rebecca on her new arrival, with Corrie’s Mollie Gallagher writing: ‘Massive congratulations ❤️❤️❤️.’
‘My new best mate,’ added actor Jack James Ryan, while Elle Mulvaney commented: ‘Omg. the cutest. so so happy for you.’
Rebecca revealed in September 2022 that she had married her partner, Dan Acraman.
The soap star, who played Lydia Chambers in the ITV soap, described their wedding as ‘the best day of our lives’ in the post shared on social media.
She announced her pregnancy in an incredibly glitzy fashion, donning a sparkly, silvery dress while showing off her baby bump for the first time in front of a Christmas tree.
‘I thought this year couldn’t get any better after marrying the man of my dreams, but it turns out it can… 🤍 Can’t wait to become a mummy in 2023 x,’ she said at the time.
Rebecca made her final appearance as Lydia on Corrie in March last year, having first made her debut in 2021.
‘‘I really have had the best time. When you find out you have a job on Coronation Street, it’s daunting. It’s an iconic show, it’s not just any show especially when you come from Manchester,’ she told Metro.co.uk when speaking about her departure.
‘I don’t tend to get very nervous when I do things and act but I was so nervous in my first week. This is Coronation Street, it’s a big deal.
