Coronation Street have been exploring a domestic abuse storyline over the past year, that has seen Yasmeen Nazir (Shelley King) become a victim of vicious Geoff Metcalfe’s (Ian Bartholomew) evil ways. The villain has exerted his control over his wife by taking charge of her finances, who she sees and what she does, leaving her a complete shell of her former bubbly and outgoing self.
This week, Yasmeen and Geoff will get into a violent fight that ends in tragedy.
After a drink in the Rovers, Yasmeen becomes aware that her husband has offered to pay for Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) and his son Tim’s (Joe Duttine) wedding.
Not only that, she discovers the dress Geoff forced her to wear was originally bought for one of his escorts.
Hurt and angry, an argument breaks out and it soon turns nasty.

Fans know Geoff scares the living daylight out of his wife, but she finally stands up for herself and fights back.
As he grabs a knife, she lashes out and whacks him with a wine bottle.
The glass catches him on the neck and he slumps to the floor, bleeding out.
Worried she may have killed him, she frantically calls 999.
And things are set to get even worse for poor Yasmeen down at the police station.
She’s met by local lawyer Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo) before she heads into an interview room with the detectives.
Geoff’s condition is yet to be disclosed but fans hope Yasmeen has ridden the world of his evil once and for all.
