Cobra Kai: William Zabka stars in season three trailer
Cobra Kai will be returning for its highly anticipated third season on Netflix this New Year’s Day. The show will see all of the major characters back after the dramatic end to season two which left Miguel Diaz (played by Xolo Maridueña) in serious danger. Express.co.uk recently spoke to the star about how he felt about the storyline when he first read it.
Fans of Cobra Kai were devastated at the end of season two when Miguel’s life was left hanging in the balance.
As viewers will remember, the second season ended with a huge fight at the school.
Things got bad quickly for many of the characters, but none more so than Miguel.
He was fighting Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) after Robby felt Miguel had cheated in the tournament.

However, Robby then kicked him off the balcony in the finale and Miguel fell and landed awkwardly on the metal handrail.
Last viewers saw of him, he was unconscious in hospital and seemed to be deteriorating.
Now season three is about to begin, there is some hope on the horizon for Miguel after he was shown in the trailer opening his eyes.
However, many are still worried the fall may have paralysed him, given the huge impact with which he hit his back.
Chatting in an interview with Express.co.uk and other media, young star Xolo Maridueña opened up about the shocking storyline.
When asked how he felt when he first read the script, he replied: “Reading the script doesn’t really give you a great idea.
“It’s really on that day that we decided how dark this ending was going to be – and I think Tanner [who plays Robbie] can attest to this.
“Was it going to be an ending where Tanner – or I guess Robbie – looked back and knew he was kicking Miguel that hard?

Cobra Kai explained: Does Miguel die in Cobra Kai? [PICTURES]
“Was it truly an accident? I think that was a big question that we were asking that day.
“And that Tanner was definitely freaking out like ‘But he’s not a bad guy, right? Like it was an accident, he didn’t see!’
“So I think on that day, we kind of figured it out and found a really good medium I think in between it being an accident and it just being a rage-filled kick.”
However, the actor did admit, the whole storyline did make him a little nervous at first.
He added: “I think I was a little nervous at first reading the scripts but also I trust our creators Josh [Heald], Jon [Hurwitz] and Hayden [Schlossberg] so much.
“They definitely have a great way of making things come around full circle.
“So I hope that this is no different. But if I die next season, then I take it all back!”
Fans will just have to tune in to see what happens when season three comes to Netflix.
Cobra Kai season 3 is released on Netflix on January 1.
