The Bates family marries young
Katie might only be 19 years old, but it looks like weddingbells could be in the air sooner rather than later. TheBates family appears to deviate from the Duggar family by having lengthy relationshipsbefore officially announcing a courtship. Still, once a courtship is announced, marriage doesn’t seem to be too far behind.

People often ask us how many of our kids are still at home and how many are married, so here’s the small group of unmarried kiddos (Pic #1 Lawson, Nathan, Trace, Carlin, Josie, Katie, Jackson, Warden, Isaiah, Addee, Ellie, Callie, Judson, & Jeb with Mom & Dad Bates)… And here are the married kiddos & their families in order of age (Scroll: #2 Zach & Whitney Bates with Bradley & Kaci Lynn, #3 Michael & Brandon Keilen, #4 Erin & Chad Paine with Carson, Brooklyn, & Everly, #5 Alyssa & John Webster with Allie Jane, Lexi Mae, & Zoey, #6 Tori & Bobby Smith with little one in the oven!) While Katie is rather young, she’s not alone in heraspirations of being young and married. All of her sisters who have gottenmarried have done so before turning 26. Josie Bates, who married Kelton Balkain 2018, was just 19 when she tied the knot. CarlinBates, who married Evan Stewart in 2019, had just turned 20 when she walkeddown the aisle. Michael Bates, the family’s eldest daughter, waited the longestof any of the girls to marry so far. She tied the knot at 25.
The Bates boys, however, appearto wait much longer to find a bride. Currently, only one Bates boy who is old enoughto get married has found his match. ZachBates, who had one failed courtship before getting married, was 25 beforehe made things official with Whitney Perkins. Lawson Bates, who will turn 28 inJuly, and Nathan Bates, who will turn 27 in August, remain single.
