Amanda Holden admits she has ‘no clue’ what she’s doing on new BBC show

Amanda Holden admits she doesn’t know what she is doing on her new show I Can See Your Voice.

The star has been hired to be a celebrity investigator alongside Alison Hammond, 46, and Jimmy Carr, 48, on the BBC series.

The trio have to guess if performers can sing just by looking at them.

But Amanda reckons viewers are doing a better job than the panel.

The 50-year-old, who is also a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, said: “I mean really, we don’t know what we are talking about.

“There’s a lot more people at home that do.

“I am literally like everyone at home, except I have some lip gloss and a lash on and I’m not sitting on my sofa.”

Every week the panel are joined by a pop star.

Amanda was thrilled because it means someone judging has a chance of guessing correctly.

She added: “They obviously really know their stuff, more than us.”

The celebs are given lots of help so they can work out if the performers will be in tune or a dud.

That includes watching videos on their lives and seeing them do a lip-sync performance.

But even then they still have “no clue” half the time, with Amanda adding: “As the show goes on and on, we might get a couple of clues, a couple of nuggets of truth.

“We get to see them lip-sync, which gives all kinds of hints. But really, we have got absolutely no clue if they can sing or not.

“Essentially, we’re just looking at people at face value and even though that’s probably one of the worst human traits there is, we all do it, so we’re all in it together. I think we do all judge people the same way.”

Amanda reckons the show is just what the nation needs after the misery of lockdowns.

She added: “It is showing a different side to all of us. It is really funny, there is lots of banter and it’s just a bit of a laugh.

“And God knows that’s what we need on the telly at the moment.”
