Zoom users can now give themselves a whole new look whenever they log in to the hugely popular video conferencing service. As reported by Toms Guide, the new Studio Effects feature lets you tinker with your appearance in real-time on Zoom. The feature has been in beta testing for a few months now but has become more widely available recently.
And the options available in Studio Effects range from the practical…to not so practical.
The Zoom tool lets users tweak the appearance of their eyebrows and lip colour, and even apply this new look to all future meetings.
While Studio Effects also lets users add facial hair, handy if you took too much off your beard during your morning shave.
Some of these options might seem like tools you could actually get away with using in a professional meeting on Zoom.

Other options, however, seem more suited if you’re in a playful mood during your next online catch-up with friends.
The Studio Effects tool lets Zoom users choose from a wide range of colours for facial hair, eyebrows and lips.
So, if you wanted to you could go for brightly coloured eyebrows, facial hair and lipstick. Which may not be the best look on Zoom if you’re having your annual performance review with your boss.
This new Zoom feature was highlighted by US writer and activist Parker Molloy on Twitter recently.
She tweeted: “I was just on a Zoom call, and apparently these are new options!?”
As she played with the Studio Effects settings Molloy went on to add: “Zero to Cara Delevingne in 5 seconds”.
If the Studio Effects feature has rolled out to your neck of the woods here’s how you can access it…
• Make sure you have the latest version of Zoom installed
• Begin a Zoom session and then head to Video Settings
• Next, go to the arrow that is next to Stop Video
• Then select Background and Filters
• If Studio Effects has rolled out to you then you should be able to click ‘Studio Effects (Beta) in the lower corner
• You may be required to download an effects package required to use the feature
In other Zoom news, a recently released study found Zoom was the biggest growing brand in 2020.
According to a survey by Trading Platforms, Zoom saw 34 percent growth in brand recognition last year.
This was undoubtedly helped by the move from the office to the home as the coronavirus pandemic hit, with Zoom becoming a surprise early go-to-choice for video conferencing needs ahead of long-running platforms like Skype.
And this huge boost in popularity is shown in Statista figures looking at the rise in Zoom daily active users.
According to Statista, at the start of 2020 Zoom had just under 38,000 daily active users.
By the end of November last year this had risen to almost 1.7million.
