WWE star Lana opens up on mental health struggles during coronavirus pandemic saying she feels ‘really depressed’

WWE star Lana felt 'really depressed' during the coronavirus pandemic.

The RAW icon admitted telling her parents 'I can't take it anymore' as she opened up about her recent mental health battle.

Lana – whose real name is CJ Perry – has had a tough time this year with both parents and her husband – AEW wrestler Miro – contracting Covid-19.

And the 35-year-old said the year has really taken its toll.

In a new episode of WWE Chronicle, she said: "I remember, texting my parents and being like, 'please pray for me, my mental health is doing really bad'.

"I'm really depressed. I just, I can't take it anymore. I'm so sad. Like, I don't want to do anything."

Lana is also a wrestling manager, actress, dancer and model and said the upheaval caused by coronavirus was almost too tough to deal with.

She added: "It's been really hard.

“Not having 300 days on the road, being at home, then all of a sudden no fans. It's really hard. I don't even know how sometimes I keep on pushing through.”

Lana has more than 3.7million Instagram followers but admitted social media became a toxic place for her when she was sat at home.

She said: “For me, what was really, really hard was, usually going to arenas and people boo you, it's something about the energy, you're like, 'oh, I'm in control of this'.

"But then when all of a sudden I don't interact with any people whatsoever and I'm just at home and I post something [on social media] and everyone is just so mean.

"I couldn't handle it anymore, because that's my only interaction with human beings – my Instagram account or Twitter.

"And now everyone in the comments is like, 'you should be fired.

"'Why are you not fired? You suck. You're this. You're that.'

"Like, why even try? Why? It doesn't matter. You work hard but then you can't post because everyone is going to tell you to go jump off a cliff and kill yourself and like you're worth nothing. So it's like, well, why?'"

But Lana said she feels much better as the year has progressed.

And this Sunday at Survivor Series, Lana will represent team RAW in the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match.
