One woman has left social media in stitches after creating a TikTok version of Mamma Mia in the style of Jane Austen.

Madelaine Turner, who lives in Long Beach, California, created the medley that saw the hit ABBA musical receive a classic Georgian twist.

The 28-year-old donned her finest 18th-century attire for the sketch which has been praised by social media users as a ‘masterpiece’.

The amateur filmmaker uploaded the light-hearted clip alongside a caption that read: ‘I really had too much fun making this.’

Madelaine showed her eye for detail as she sat behind a table decked out with writing papers, candles and linens as she recited a letter.

She spoke about wanting to invite her father to her wedding but not knowing which man it was after finding her mother’s diary – as in the 2008 blockbuster.

She read: ‘My dearest cousin, you must promise to read this away from prying eyes for I have made the most scandalous discovery.

‘As you know my marriage is set to take place in no less than a fortnight and it is my dearest wish to have my father give me away.

‘Of course, mama has kept his identity concealed from me and does not wish to press further.

‘I resolved to let him remain a mystery until I came upon the key to it all – a diary kept by mama detailing not one, not two but three romantic entanglements prior to my birth.’

She then resolved to write letters to all of the men, along with an invite to the upcoming ceremony, which she finished with a wax seal.

The video then cut to the portraits of Colin Firth and Pierce Brosnan hanging on the wall as well as a snapshot of Stellan Skarsgård in a newspaper.
