Rapper and actor Romeo Miller enjoyed the early stages of fame as a child star. His success as a young rapper launched him into an acting career that landed him his own show on Nickelodeon in addition to a few movie roles. Born Aug. 19, 1989, in New Orleans, La. to No Limit Records CEO Percy “Master P” Miller, the former Nick star seemingly had a sure shot to Hollywood through his father’s success in music and the NBA.
Miller released his self-titled debut album, Lil’ Romeo, in July 2001 when he was just 11 years old. The album spawned his hit single “My Baby,” which topped the Billboard charts and made him a top competitor for fellow teenage rapper Lil’ Bow Wow. That same year, Miller made his acting debut, playing himself on the television series The Brothers Garcia as well as in Max Keeble’s Big Move. He then followed up his first album with the release of Game Time in 2002. Coming off the success of two rap albums as a young teen, Miller went on to immerse himself even more into acting in 2003.
Romeo Miller isn't so 'lil anymore
In 2003, Romeo Miller appeared in Honey alongside Jessica Alba before getting his own self-titled show on Nickelodeon called Romeo! He starred on the series for all of its three seasons until it ended in 2006. Since achieving fame as a child, Romeo has maintained a career in media. In 2011 he appeared as a contestant on Dancing with the Stars and one year later he returned to the big screen with a role in Tyler Perry’s film Madea’s Witness Protection.
He currently stars in the hit WeTV reality show Growing Up Hip Hop: LA alongside some other celebrity kids like Angela Simmons and her brother JoJo Simmons. In May 2020, Romeo quit the show on-air while confronting his co-stars about them having a “problem” with him. Damon Dash’s son, Boogie, called Romeo out for bringing Master P with him to address the cast. “I wish he had did it by himself instead of bringing his Daddy along,” Boogie said at the time. These days, Romeo is hosting The Mix on Fox Soul and CEO’ing a couple of his father’s companies including RL Studies, Rap Snacks and Moneyattis, according to his Instagram bio.
