Donald Trump ‘surprised’ Harry was invited to coronation
Donald Trump blasted “disrespectful” Meghan Markle in an interview with GBNews today, speaking with host Nigel Farage.
The former president, who is running again for 2023, claimed the actress-turned-Duchess has been disrespectful to the late Queen.
Body language expert Judi James analysed the former president’s appearance on GBNews.
She told Express: “When Meghan’s name was mentioned Trump’s lips pursed and jutted in another signature signal of rejection and those lower teeth were bared once again.
“He told Farage she was ‘disrespectful to the Queen’ and his hands were thrown out in front of his torso in an ‘invisible brick’ gesture as his shoulders shrugged in a gesture of disbelief and rejection of such a thought.”
In one of the more outlandish moments in the interview, the former president claimed if he became president once more he could end Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 24 hours.
He also discussed the former First Minister of Scotland Nicola Sturgeon, who he claimed to be happy had stepped down.
The businessman-turned-politician showed “deep dislike” for the Scot.
Judi said: “His body language went into fight mode when he got onto the subject of Ukraine.
“Raising and dropping his shoulders in a mini shoulder-roll gesture that a boxer might use before a bout, he announced ‘I will end that war in one day’, but his classic facial expression of anger and rejection got its first airing when Sturgeon’s name was mentioned.
“His hands fell into a downward steeple gesture between his thighs and his lower jaw jutted, revealing his lower teeth in an expression of deep dislike.”
Trump was critical of current US President Joe Biden, who be repeatedly said was “sleeping” and would be “sleeping” instead of attending the Coronation.
Judi said: “There was a switch to more gestures of dislike and rejection as Biden’s name came up, when he rocked side-to-side in his chair and those steepled fingers suddenly splayed wide in a gesture of emphatic power.
“Biden was mentioned again at the end of the interview and here an accelerated blink rate suggested the anger was real, rather than just political show-boating over a man he accused of ‘sleeping’ instead of attending the Coronation.”
Generally, Judi said, Trump’s body language showed a return of the old Trump. She said: “Trump’s signature ‘shake and yank’ power greeting with Farage as he arrived for this interview was the greatest signal yet that he was back on the campaign trail and back into his old techniques of automatically overpowering people he meets.”
