The illustratively decorated Christmas countdown is made by posh French perfume house, Diptyque.

Behind the doors are eleven mini candles as well as perfumes, body oils and bath treats. There is also one limited edition candle, as well as body scrubs and decorations.
As for what it will smell like, the scents on offer include Figuier, Noisetier, Tubéreuse, Feu de bois, Lys, BaiesAmbre, Musc, Baies, Roses, Narguilé and Mimosa,
The advent calendar costs £350 and if you have that sort of money you better move quickly as last year it sold out fast.
On the Selfridges website the description reads: "The lead-up to Christmas is always an exciting time, but it becomes even more thrilling with this limited-edition advent calendar from Diptyque.
"A festive treat in hand-illustrated packaging by none other than Ugo Gattoni, it's home to this year's seasonal signatures – the Moonlit Fir candle and yuletide decorations – and a selection of the brand's most coveted candles, fragrances, body creams and scrubs.

But if you would like an advent calendar that is a bit less chic but still very exciting, then Boots are selling a BDSM-themed advent calendar.
The adventurous advent calendar has 25 items inside it which include nipple clamps, restraints, vibrators, and massage toys.
The calendar gets more and more experimental as the days go on until on 25 December when the gift reaches a climax.
Describing the calendar on their website, Boots wrote: “Much more exciting than chocolate, this advent calendar is bursting with toys, gifts, games and light bondage pieces, just waiting to be played with.
“Open each mystery door in the morning for a dawn delight, or save the excitement for a far-from-silent night in.”
The calendar is made in collaboration with LoveHoney, a sex toy website, who have previously admitted that sales of their products during the lockdown have soared.
A spokesman for the company explained: “The pandemic has sparked the biggest boom in sex toy sales since the explosion of interest after Fifty Shades of Grey first came out eight years ago.
“We have seen a major shift in bedroom behaviour in the last six months with lots of new customers coming to the market for the first time and looking to experiment with sex toys.”
