Prince Harry and Meghan Markle both make an appearance from their home in the new trailer. Body language expert Judi James commented on how the clip could show a “different” Harry.
Most of the two minute video follows Prince Harry as he meets with celebrities including Oprah Winfrey and Lady Gaga.
At one point, the screen quickly flashes to show the Duke with his wife at what looks to be their home, suggesting there will be scenes of the couple when the show premieres on Apple TV+ on May 21.
Analysing the clip for Express.co.uk, Judi claimed it was “very emotional” while Harry looks very different from the persona he was once known for.
She said: “This very loud and very emotional trailer with its crashing music, shouting on-stage speakers and tragic tears from celebrities including Oprah herself features Harry using body language that appears to place him partly in the role of therapist but also as an empathist as his own suffering is evoked.
“His demeanor at the start is a world away from the fun-loving Prince we used to know in the UK.
“He is emphatically straight-faced with a horizontal mouth-clamp and a distant, reflective eye-gaze as though working through painful memories.
“When he speaks we get a high hand clasp with meshed fingers and fingertips pointing inward.
“This gesture seems to form a barrier but it is a confident, thoughtful and professional-looking barrier that can often be associated with a therapist or counsellor offering help.
“His one crossed leg on the other thigh also gives this impression of someone prepared to listen and understand.”
In the video, Prince Harry opens up about his own past experiences while offering a listening ear as others share what they have been through.
The trailer shows footage from the funeral of Princess Diana where Prince Charles is seen speaking to a young Harry.
Judi explained Prince Harry’s body language shows him reflecting on what happened.
She continued: “When we see Harry from a perspective of his own tragedy he is sitting with one hand on his hip, sighing.
“Next though he is back in professional mode, clapping his hands together in a forward steeple or pleading gesture, with his brows raised in an expression of hope.
“As we see celebrities including Oprah in tears, Harry is seen with his fingertips over his lips as though stopping his words coming out and looking down with the reflective eye gaze.
“The train of his thought is made clear as we are shown a clip of Harry as a young boy, following his mother’s coffin.
“Charles appears here, bending down to his small son with what looks like a gesture of concern.”
Towards the end of the trailer, Meghan is seen standing next to her husband while he sits at a desk.
Judi claimed Meghan displays similar body language to Prince Charles in the previous footage.
However, instead of showing concern like Charles, both Meghan and Harry look happy.
“The clip with Meghan makes it clear where Harry has found his happiness,” the expert concluded.
“As he sits grinning at his screen Meghan leans into shot in an almost mirror image of Charles with his small son, only this time Harry is looking relaxed and smiling while Meghan also smiles widely as she watches the screen with him.”
