Ring might be famed for its video doorbells, but now it wants to help you keep burglars at bay with another connected device. The Amazon-owned company has unveiled its latest gadget called Ring Alarm Outdoor Siren, which sticks to the outside of your home and, as the name hints, belts out a loud siren should anyone try to enter without your permission.

As well as the booming built-in bell, there’s also LED lights that flash to deter criminals – and let your neighbours know that something is awry. As you’d expect from Ring, there’s also an instant notification sent to your smartphone to warn you the siren has been triggered.

Even when it’s not booming out, the siren is still designed to be a useful everyday security measure, illuminating white at night time for extra visibility to warn of those considering breaking into your home. Plus, there are full smartphone controls that will even let you adjust the volume levels.

Along with this outdoor siren, Ring has launched an improved indoor alarm system, which is now sleeker and includes a number of new features. Most notably, there’s an Alarm Keypad with a one-touch button to sound the Alarm or to activate Assisted Monitoring.

Ring lets you pre-programme three contacts, so it can automatically let them know when there is a medical emergency, fire or suspicious intruder outside. Plus, the Keypad’s Modes buttons make it easy for customers to set their Alarm to Disarmed, Home, or Away Mode as needed.

The Ring Alarm also has newly designed sensors that Ring says are designed to be smaller, more compact, and therefore, easier to mount so they can fit into smaller spaces, for added convenience and flexibility where it’s needed most.

“At Ring, we’re focused on customer feedback and are excited to add this latest product to our expanding range–giving our customers the tools they want, to build out their home security systems,” said Dave Ward, Ring’s Managing Director for Europe. “Now, more than ever, we expect technology to make our lives easier, safer, and more convenient. By introducing Ring Alarm Outdoor Siren, alongside our next-generation Ring Alarm system, we’re focused on giving our customers more options to expand their Rings of security in an effective way, no matter their home setup.”

Ring Alarm Outdoor Siren is available for purchase from March 31 for £69.

Ring Alarm (2nd Generation) will be available for purchase on April 28 with pricing starting from £219 (5-piece kit).

These new products now join the recently released Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2. This device now comes packed with technology and new sensors with the Ring boasting that its latest device can actually bring a bird’s eye view of your property straight to your smartphone.

A technology called 3D Motion Detection provides an aerial map view of your property, showing exactly where motion has been spotted to give you historical context to the nature of the event. This basically means you can see if it’s simply someone passing by your home or something a little more sinister.
