“Battlestar Galatica” actress Nicki Clyne is in Brooklyn court to learn whether her former lover Keith Raniere will spend the rest of his life behind bars for running the twisted sex cult Nxivm.
Clyne was among dozens of supporters and members of the media lined up outside the Brooklyn federal courthouse for the Svengali-like leader’s sentencing. She was also accompanied by documentarists.
The actress, who is married to fellow Nxivm cult member and former “Smallville” actress Allison Mack, penned a letter of support ahead of Raniere’s highly anticipated sentencing, revealing that she was his “partner” for a decade and begging a judge for leniency.
Raniere was convicted in June 2019 on all seven counts, including sex trafficking, racketeering, child pornography and forced labor. He faces 15 years to life on the charges.
Mack was also charged for her involvement as a “slave master” who recruited young women to join Nxivm’s secret sorority called DOS. The victims were starved, branded and forced to sleep with Raniere. The TV starlet pleaded guilty in April 2019 but has not yet been sentenced.
Some 20 of Raniere’s pals also showed up in court, including Marc Elliot, who claimed he overcame Tourette syndrome thanks to Nxivm, which masqueraded as a self-help group based near Albany.
“I think Keith is a good man who has helped the lives of thousands and thousands of people and currently there is only one narrative in the media because another side has been completely silenced until only a couple of days ago,” said Elliot.
