Netflix is the number one streaming platform in the world, and it didn’t get to that position by resting on its laurels. From must-have boxsets that seem to constantly be getting added to software tweaks that regularly drop – Netflix knows how to keep itself in the number one slot. Earlier this year the streaming giant added a major new UI feature, the Top 10 row, which has been a real game-changer.
And Netflix hasn’t stopped there, with the service recently making one less obvious tweak to the user interface and it’s been welcomed with open arms by streaming fans
It has been revealed that Netflix has tinkered with the Continue Watching row and users can now remove TV shows or movies from it.
While this may seem light a slight tweak, the news has gone down a treat with users – with a post about it on Reddit getting over 4,500 upvotes.
Responding to the announcement, one Redditor said: “It’s about time too.
“There are so many shows I’ve started on Netflix and hated, so it would be nice to get them out of my queue.”

Another posted: “Sweet, I just started a show I really couldn’t get into and was looking for a way to get rid of it.”
One added: “This has been long needed.”
And another wrote: “Now bring it to TV!”
While it’s a slight tweak it helps to make the Netflix user experience more streamlined and easier to access the shows you do actually want to binge next.
Also, it means if you have been watching something you’re a bit embarrassed to have tuned into then you can hide this fact from anyone else who uses your account.
Unfortunately for iOS fans, the feature has only been added to the Android version of the Netflix app so far.
In a post online the streaming giant outlined how you can utilise this new functionality. Here’s what you need to do…
• Tap the menu icon on the title you want to remove
• Select the Remove From Row option
The news comes after Netflix subscribers on Android recently saw another great new feature drop on their devices ahead of their iOS counterparts.
The streaming giant has quietly rolled out a brand new ‘screen lock’ feature that prevents accidental touches on smartphones or tablets.
The feature was rolled out last week and can be activated by selecting the screen lock option.
This appears when watching a show alongside options for subtitles and more.
When selected screen lock removes the Netflix UI entirely – so play, pause and the timeline bar all disappear with a lock icon appearing in its stead.
To make the Netflix interface appear once again you will have to press the lock icon twice, bringing all of the controls you need back onto your device.
