My partner shaved off his hair during lockdown to reveal a Nazi tattoo

DEAR DEIDRE: MY partner shaved off his hair during the first lockdown to reveal a Nazi tattoo.

It doesn’t surprise me. I’m quickly discovering he’s not a nice man.

He drinks way too much and when he does, he gets aggressive and the name-calling starts.

He’s 41 and I’m 35. I just want a quiet life and to enjoy my children, but his drunk mood swings make me walk on eggshells.

He was on his 14th can of lager last night when he said I should find somewhere else to live, and he called me a skank.

He accused me of having an affair – that’s a new one on me!

I want him to stop being mean and to stop breaking stuff in our house when he’s had a beer.

DEIDRE SAYS: This is a very damaging environment for your children.

Plus, the name-calling and aggression will be taking a toll on your self-esteem and wellbeing.

If 14 cans of lager are somewhere near his usual intake, then he has a serious problem with alcohol.

His tattoo is deeply concerning too.

I can see you love your children very much and it is important to protect them from this kind of harmful exposure.

I urge you to seek help through The Freedom Programme (, and sooner rather than later.

It is designed primarily for female victims of domestic violence but also men too, or those in a same-sex domestic violent situation.
